bigger on the inside

Well...looks like you learn a lot when you actually check out the counter stats for one of your sites, specifically Storyteller. Had I known about this little tidbit, I'm not so sure I would have made the announcement that I was giving it up, but I did, and I'm sticking by my decision.

Here's the skinny: I went to my counter page because I got an email that Storyteller was getting a lot of hits (not surprising seeing as how I just posted about it, right?) and that's when I saw this odd occurrence. It seems that sadbhyl's 2004 Writercon report was very popular. Hmmmm. I follow the links....to Wikipedia. Huh??? OK, it's a page about Rupert Giles. I'm still scratching my head until I get all the way down to the bottom where it says references. And there, in that spot, is one reference...sadbhyl's report.

Wow.

Isn't that interesting?

You want to take Storyteller off my hands now, don'tcha? *g*

ETA: OK, checking into this more thoroughly and it seems like it's some type of scholarly thing? It's gotten hits from a lot of universities around the world -- US, UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, Sweden, and Italy (that one's from a spa though). Just very...strange.

It's been a very hard decision to come to, but I'm giving up Storyteller and my Common Rotation photo site. Actually, I probably should have done this a long time ago, but denial just isn't a river in Egypt.

For those who aren't familiar with the Storyteller site, it's a Whedonverse convention report archive. There are some reports there that are from the first Writercon, JM's gigs at 14 Below and a whole bunch of the early Buffy cons.

So, I'm putting this offer out there -- if anyone wants the files to Storyteller, you're more than welcome to have them. I no longer have the time to go surfing the web to find out when and where our favorite Whedonverse actors are appearing. I just cannot keep up. I tried, believe me, but my time is no longer my own (and I wouldn't have it any other way). Plus, I'm thinking that there's not a whole lot of need for something like this anymore -- people just don't seem interested. But that could just be me.

Anyway, it's the end of an era for me. I used to be so heavily involved in the Whedon fandom, but now, I'm so far removed it's not even funny. I haven't read fic in a long time or written a piece of fic in it for two years, nor have I gone to any type of Whedonverse convention in that time. In fact, Angel Booster Bash was my last con and that was July 2005.

I'm not saying goodbye, I'm just saying that I can no longer be involved like I was, and Storyteller needs someone who has the time and patience and the willingness to be persistent enough to get the reports. If you're interested in taking over the site (you'd have to host it yourself, etc), please contact me at: brat at psubrat dot net. The only thing that I ask is, if you do decide to take it, please credit me somewhere saying that I conceived the idea. It would only be right.

Now that we are in the midst of another con season, I am on the lookout for reports to add to Storyteller, the Whedonverse Con Report Archive.

If you, or anyone you you know, has attended a con or gig this month and has written a report about it, please send them over to the site to submit it. Not everyone can attend such functions or be in several places at once, so this site is dedicated to those fans who like to live vicariously through those who do get a chance to attend.

Don't forget, there is also an Upcoming Conventions page, broken down by month, that lists the conventions and the guests who have been signed. If you don't see a convention listed that you know of, please let me know and I'll add it to the site.

Now that con season has started again, I am on the lookout for reports to add to Storyteller, the Jossverse Con Report Archive.

With the upcoming con season I expect those of you who are attending to be flooding my email with lovely stories for everyone to read. ::glares pointedly at those who are going to the Houston con next month as well as those who are attending Marsters' gigs in the UK::

Also, remember, I keep a detailed Upcoming Convention area that's broken down by months for what's going on, when and where.

I updated Storyteller with a bunch of cons for 2005. I had no idea there were going to be so many!!

For those that are interested in the con report archive, Storyteller, (it's getting a ton of hits, just not any submissions yet), I've added reports by dovil (Buffy Downunder with James Marsters) and fraidycatx3 (Toronto Trek 17 - from 2003). I chased them down and asked them if I could submit their tales. Go have a look see when you get some time, especially if you haven't read dovil's report yet. It's a hoot!!
