Well...looks like you learn a lot when you actually check out the counter stats for one of your sites, specifically Storyteller. Had I known about this little tidbit, I'm not so sure I would have made the announcement that I was giving it up, but I did, and I'm sticking by my decision.

Here's the skinny: I went to my counter page because I got an email that Storyteller was getting a lot of hits (not surprising seeing as how I just posted about it, right?) and that's when I saw this odd occurrence. It seems that [livejournal.com profile] sadbhyl's 2004 Writercon report was very popular. Hmmmm. I follow the links....to Wikipedia. Huh??? OK, it's a page about Rupert Giles. I'm still scratching my head until I get all the way down to the bottom where it says references. And there, in that spot, is one reference...[livejournal.com profile] sadbhyl's report.

Wow.

Isn't that interesting?

You want to take Storyteller off my hands now, don'tcha? *g*

P.S. It's also referenced on Ethan Rayne's page, but at least there it tells you what it's referencing: [Jane Espenson: "She absolutely believes that Giles and Ethan had some kind of sexual history together."]

ETA: OK, checking into this more thoroughly and it seems like it's some type of scholarly thing? It's gotten hits from a lot of universities around the world -- US, UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, Sweden, and Italy (that one's from a spa though). Just very...strange.

Of course they had!

I've always thought that Jane was a wise woman. *g*

OMG how cool is that, and also how much the world is closing in on the fan base. this phenomenon that got started with Buffy et all, has snow balled. Information is king, and anyone who has it rules.

It's very cool...and very surprising at the same time. You never think that something you write, something so innocuous as a quote from a writer, would make such an impact somewhere. I know [livejournal.com profile] sadbhyl didn't. Her tummy's in knots.

I'm not at all surprised that Storteller has its hand on the pulse of pop culture. You make good stuff. Just look at that kid of yours :-)
