That Doctor Who Spoiler

Yeah, you know, that one that was just announced last night over on the BBC. Come on, you know what I'm talking about. Fandom is imploding and I'm not sure anyone is getting away unscathed.
Personally, I'm thrilled. Not because Doctor/Rose is my "all time ship 4 evah!", but because it's going to be an amazing three episodes. I can't wait to see what Martha's reaction is to Rose. Donna's reaction is going to be hilarious, I'm sure. And, well, if the rumors are true and somehow Jack gets mixed up in there, that would just be heaven on a stick.
What I'm hoping for: Closure. One way or the other I want to know how Doctor/Rose ends. I want him to tell her that she's the love of his lives or I want them to realize that they've moved on, that their lives are no longer intertwined. Either way, I'm going to be happy. Why? Because it's not the dreaded Joss Whedon and his "Will Buffy choose Angel or Spike" torture. And if I don't get closure, at least I get to see them together for three more episodes because those three episodes weren't ever supposed to happen anyway.
I'm really looking forward to Series 4 and Billie Piper returning is going to be icing on the cake.
Is it March yet???

Date: 2007-11-29 04:16 am (UTC)I think I may be lucky finding my Who love late -- Rose was already gone and I'm not invested in a Ten/Martha ship, so I'm just watching it all from the sidelines.

Date: 2007-11-29 10:07 pm (UTC)I came into Doctor Who while I was pregnant with Boo. Everyone kept telling me I needed to watch this show, so
Oh, and I'm so not a Ten/Martha shipper. While I liked Martha just fine -- I thought Freema was doomed from the start with the fans -- she was just too love struck with Ten to be an interesting character. The only time I really liked her was at the end when she grew a spine and left Ten for greener pastures. ::pets Ten::

Date: 2007-11-30 04:36 pm (UTC)That's one of the things which I find interesting about Who -- people tend to gravitate toward "their" Doctor. They might like some of the others just fine, but they always have one who's "theirs."
Maybe that's why I never really was a fan -- my friends were squeeing over Tom Baker or Pertwee or Davison, but none of them were "my" Doctor. At this point, though, I think that I'll be suffering some anxiety when Ten moves on, because he's becoming my Doctor. (Doesn't hurt he's the model for my latest hero.)
