I just finished watching the last ep of Doctor Who. I miss Christopher Eccleston already. He's what drew me into the show and now he's gone. ::sob:: Must there always be a new Doctor? I'm probably committing some type of sacrilege by saying that or something, but really, couldn't we just have Christopher one more season?

And John Barrowman as Capt. Jack Harkness was fabulous. Hot. Sexy. OMG. And they left him behind!!! However, according to IMDB, he's heading up the sequel to Doctor Who. I can handle that.

I may have to buy the US version of the DVDs when they're released. I really liked this show. I'm not so sure how I feel about this David Tennant guy though. Will he have the same chemistry with Rose? Cause have to say, I was shipping Rose and the Doctor quite heavily.

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] scarlettgirl for hooking me up with the eps and for everyone on my FL that kept saying it was a good show and to give it a chance. I'm really glad that I did.

So, Christmas, eh? I'm there.

ETA: PS...Where can I find the special????

There's always another Doctor and another companion. It's how the show's lasted 42 years. Nine and Ten are both The Doctor - the same guy. But Nine was marvellous and always will be there to be loved.

Re Ten, download the post POTW scene done for Children in Need. It's the link between POTW and the Xmas Special and it's fantastic.

Thanks! When I was younger I used to see Doctor Who on our local PBS station and wonder what the heck that was. I even had a crush on a kid in the fifth grade who had a Doctor Who scarf. Wait, this Doctor didn't have a scarf...did that used to be a staple?

Four (the longest serving Doctor) wore it a lot. The others didn't.

Heh, I made a post much like yours when I finished. And then I saw the 'Children In Need' teaser and I jumped right on board the David Tennant bandwagon. Because, wow. He's gonna be *great*.

I just watched the teaser and I guess I can deal with the new Doctor. Poor Rose - she looked so lost.

Welcome to the world of Who fandom. I came in with #4, and when he regenerated I was absolutely in tears. Took the longest time for me to forgive Peter Davison for taking the job, but I grew to love him, too. The chemistry will be different, but it will have it's own appeal.

And dude, I just looked over at your Penn State football record. You guys totally crushed my alma mater. Have you no shame, beating up a poor, defenseless hick school like Central? ;)

I honestly never thought I'd like Doctor Who because the ones I caught on PBS didn't make any sense to me at all. But this one, it just really sucked me right on in.

As for my football team beating up your football team...yeah, baby! We RULE! LOL

i once had the same feelings about David as well, but then I downloaded his BBC 3 Glastonbury interview and fell in love. Granted, Chris was and always be my First Doctor, but what we've seen of David so far and the quotes from both David and Billie... I think we'll be ok.

*sniff*

I love Chris. He'll forever be the reason I enjoyed my first Doctor Who experience.

For heaven's sake Leslie, if you actually read my journal you'd have been able to download it on Nov 19. I'll make another upload.

OMG! I knew I had seen it somewhere, but because I was avoiding all things Who while watching, I couldn't remember who had it. I should have bookmarked it for later, but didn't. I do read your journal!!! I do!!! ::feels awful::

You know, I actually didn't like Chris after the first episode, but he won me over as the season went on. I wasn't sure about David either, until I saw him in Blackpool. Now I think I'll love him even more.

Then again, I started watching with the first Doctor, so I'm kinda used to this regeneration thing.

Heck, I loved Paul McGann, and I only had him for 90 minutes.

DT says they will be playing it as bf/gf next season, only without the actual sex. I'm suspecting it will be even more shippy.
