Last night's Doctor Who

Holy crap!!!!
It's always nice to see Captain Jack since I adore John Barrowman. Mmmmm...John Barrowman. ::heavy sigh::
Where was I? Oh, right. Last night's ep:
I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode.
I was shocked when Ten saw Jack running towards the TARDIS but left Cardiff anyway. WTF? I may have Nine blinders on, but are we to believe that Nine felt that way as well? It's very confusing even if they had Ten explain it while Jack was in the radiated room. It's also interesting that Rose was the one that brought Jack back from the dead and made it so that he lived forever. I haven't finished with Torchwood yet, so if there was an explanation of how he became the way he did, then I know nothing about it. And the whole hand thing? So very neat!! I wondered about that hand while I was watching Torchwood.
Derek Jacobi was brilliant as the Professor. Though, I have no idea who the hell the Master is since I'm a johnny-come-lately to the Who scene. I did an IMDB search on Mr. Jacobi and found that he was the voice of the Master in the 2003 animated series Doctor Who: Scream of the Shalka. I also see that David Tennant was the voice of the Caretaker. Interesting. But would someone please explain to me the significance of the Master? Obviously, he's a Time Lord and knows how to work the Tardis, but beyond that, what's his history? Why is Ten having a cow about him? Oh! Wikipedia has a long definition of him. I shall read that now. OK. All caught up on who the Master is. Yikes! He's crazy!
Was it me or did Jack seem a bit manic? After watching him on TW, he seemed a bit out of character to me in this ep. Eh, probably just me being picky.
And really, I'm tired of Martha and her unrequited love for Ten. Give it up, girl! He has no interest in you that way. I'd like to see her as the strong woman she really is and not this love sick fool they're making her out to be. Please give me a reason to like her for her and not because she's the snark to the Doctor's mania. I want character background. I want a reason to connect to her. I don't need Rose back, I just need more than what I've been given. That's all.
John Simm playing the new incarnation of the Master is awesome! I adore John Simm from Life On Mars and was excited to see him show up in DW. I cannot wait for the last two episodes now. But then, it's the last two of the series. ::weeps::
